Gun Permits - Notice to Applicants
1.) Please read these instructions for a new or renewal LTC or FID.
2.) Download the "Firearm Form and Application" here.
4.) Leave the completed application at the lobby window with copies of any necessary documents. If in an envelope, please mark it Gun Permit Application. All documents must be submitted together.
For new and renewal applications please call Detective Lieutenant Brendan O'Leary for an appointment for an interview, fingerprints and photos at 617-993-2553. Applicants should wait two (2) business days after submitting their applications before making an appointment. No walk ins.
Failure to be fingerprinted and photographed, not filling out the application completely, or not submitting all the required documents, will result in the application not being processed. Failure to call and make an appointment within (1) month will result in the application being removed from system.
Payment of the $100 non-refundable application fee is due when you are fingerprinted and photographed. Checks made out to the "Town of Belmont" are preferred.
Do not supply any photos with your application.
