School Resource Officers

The Belmont Police Department currently has two Police Officers assigned to the schools in our community. Both officers work Monday through Friday and can be reached to assist families and students with school related matters that may need the assistance of the Belmont Police Department.

SRO O’Connor who is assigned to the BHS/High School is a member of the NEMLEC STARS Team that is a multi-disciplinary group of educators, school-based mental health providers, fire fighters, EMS, and police officers dedicated to providing school crisis response to NEMLEC member communities. The STARS Team also provides a threat assessment team to help determine a proper and measured response to school threats. Officer Kristine Pugliese is assigned to Middle School and Elementary schools.

In addition to the two school resource officers, we have Detective Sgt. William Regan who in addition to being assigned to domestic violence cases also serves as the Department’s Juvenile Detective.  Det. Sgt. Regan, Officer O’Connor and Officer Kristine Pugliese all work as a team to help ensure that the youth of Belmont is well served by the department.
