The Belmont Police Department Honor Guard Unit represents the men and women of the Police Department. The Honor Guard Unit was formed many years ago and was and is made up of dedicated officers. Their main function is to represent officers and families at funerals, parades, and other ceremonies. They do this with pride and set a standard that other officers can follow. In addition, the Honor Guard preserves tradition and gets other officers motivated to excel.

At full capacity, Honor Guard members consist of two riflemen and three flagmen. The Honor Guard carries decommisioned US Army M1 Rifles. The flags that are carried are the US Flag, the POW-MIA Flag and the Police Department Flag, which Incorporates the Seal of the Town of Belmont.
