Auto Etching Program

Belmont Police Badge Image

The Belmont Auxiliary Police and the Governor’s Auto Theft Strike Force will be sponsoring an Auto Theft Prevention Program called “Auto Etching”. The process takes about 3 minutes and etches the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) into all the glass windows of your vehicle. It is done with a computer generated stencil and a weak glass reactive treatment. It provides a visible deterrent and can be good for a discount on your comprehensive auto insurance.

WHEN: Saturday March 22, 2008 from 9AM – 2PM

WHERE: Belmont Highway Dept. Garage at 37 C St.

To participate, you will need the following:

1.       A vehicle with a current and valid registration

2.       $10 cash, paid to the Auto Theft Strike Force

3.       A valid drivers license in your possession

Please direct any questions to Lt. Santangelo at 617-993-2552

or email to: rsantangelo@belmontpd.org
