(Belmont, MA).  At approximately 11:40 AM today there was a robbery of the East Cambridge Savings Bank at 505 Common St. A suspect entered the bank and presented a note to a teller and demanded money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled from the bank with an as yet undetermined amount of cash. No weapon was shown. The suspect is described as a 25 to 30 year old heavy set white male, 5' 10” tall , wearing a baseball hat, black jacket, gray hooded sweat shirt with a maroon scarf, blue jeans and white sneakers. The robbery is currently under investigation by the Belmont Police and the FBI. Anyone with information is asked to call the Belmont Police at 617-993-2501.
