Enforcement of SPEED Limits in Belmont!!!!!!! April 16 to May 1
The Belmont Police are encouraging community members to slow down and realize the impact of speeding. Over the years residents place speeding and traffic issues as the top priority for the police. Please help us educate everyone about the impact of speeding. Frpm April 16 to May 1 we will be focusing on speeding violation in Belmont.

In the below example a truck attempts to stop at various speeds. Even going a few miles over the speed limit can make the difference of a fatality or a minor injury. Braking distance increases with higher speeds, so a truck traveling at 25 mph needs 22 feet to completely stop; 35 mph needs 43 feet; and 40 mph needs 60 feet.
